Christina Gildersleeve Neumann came to PSU as an Assistant Professor in the fall of 2002. Her teaching and research interests include typical and atypical speech development in children from birth to 6, bilingual speech development, appropriate treatment and intervention for children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and childhood apraxia of speech; she presents seminars nationally on the latter two topics. Prior clinical experience includes three years working as a Spanish/English bilingual speech-language pathologist in central Texas. Before becoming an SLP, she spent many years in international education, including five studying, teaching, conducting research, and advising US and international students in Germany and Ecuador.
