CORE COURSES FOR MASTER'S DEGREE
(Revised Spring 2005)
The following core-courses assume that the graduate student has completed pre-professional education at the undergraduate level at Portland State University or elsewhere. Students who do not have basic course work in Speech-Language Pathology, which constitutes pre-professional preparation, must take such courses prior to enrollment in the core-courses listed below. Certain exceptions may be made if special circumstances warrant.

SPHR 560 - Research Methods in Speech-Language Pathology
SPHR 563 - Adult Language Disorders
SPHR 565 - Dysphasia
SPHR 566 - Motor Speech Disorders
SPHR 570 - Audiometric Practicum
SPHR 581 - Stuttering
SPHR 582 - Voice Disorders
SPHR 583 - Language Development & Disorders in Children
SPHR 584 - Assessment and Treatment of Language Disorders: Birth to Age 5
SPHR 585 - Assessment and Treatment of Language Disorders in School Age Children and Adolescents
ELECTIVES: Students, in conference with advisors, must select additional course work in Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology and related areas in order to broaden and enhance competency in their major and fulfill ASHA course requirements for the CCC.
